We warmly invite you to an ARTIST Edition of the OPEN SAUNA SESSIONS in Gmunden, with Artist in Residence, Sira-Zoé Schmid.

It is an accessory and signature piece, an everyday object and, above all, a political symbol that - one might almost be reminded of the avant-garde tradition - owes its existence to chance. One word. Two swapped letters. Fluctuating signs that distort to the point of recognisability.
With her VULVA CAP, the artist Sira-Zoé Schmid inscribes herself into the order of banal things and turns the wearer's body into a protest body: the logo of a car brand, pars pro toto for speed intoxication and male-connoted fantasies of expansion, becomes a feminist setting. In the tradition of the feminist avant-garde, Sira-Zoé Schmid makes visible that the female body is still an extended battle zone.
