SECOND RESIDENCE SAUNA
01 September 2024, 14 - 18h
An apartment with a view of the lake and mountains, how beautiful! It's clear that something like this costs money. But so much that only those who already own property in the city can afford it? That's hard to accept, especially when there are hardly any affordable alternatives in this popular vacation region. But what do young adults do here at Lake Traunsee if they want to leave home but stay here? Where can young couples find good small apartments? Why is there no cohousing project? What will happen when everyone is old? Everyone says that living in the countryside has a bright future. But only if there are corresponding new projects, we say. So let's start the future of living on Lake Traunsee in the floating sauna. Let's set up a housing project for infusion 1 and a community for infusion 2, let's imagine intergenerational living for infusion 4 and let's think about which vacancies can be inhabited and how, before the sauna rings for the last infusion. Experts for unusual living discuss with all those who want to live well and together at Lake Traunsee.
Guests: Anna Firak & Lars Moritz
For Anna Firak architecture means closely observing and analysing and only then deciding whether to rebuild or simply restructure. She sees vacant buildings and unused urban or rural spaces not only as an added value in terms of opportunities, but also as a major social challenge. She sees herself as a mediator. Anna Firak works as a planner, performance artist and curator.www.annafirak.com)
Lars Moritz, performance artist and experimental urban researcher, has been realising projects in urban space for many years, always site- and situation-specific, often participatory. He conducts artistic research with the Institute for Everyday Life Research, pursuing a strategy of subversive infotainment. In addition to performances, he shoots videos, builds objects, writes texts and maps Europe's miniature golf courses. Lars Moritz is a second home owner on a lake in the Salzkammergut.

Leaving and sitting, how does that go together? Quite well in the Plateau Blo sauna. People discuss and debate while sweating together. A place to rest in between has been created on the blue plateau, secluded and cosy, yet permeable. A space to sway on the waves, to unwind, but also a forum where new plans can emerge.
