Expeditions along public borders
03.07.-10.07.24
unDOCKn is a collective research format that documented the private riverside areas in Gmunden as part of Plateau Blo. In the course of the project, discussions were held about the emergence of private property, its disproportionate dimensions and the remaining freedoms in the spaces in between.
The starting point was the Blo Bootshaus plateau in Toskana Park, from where expeditions were launched to as many private shore sections as possible. The private landscapes around Lake Traunsee were photographed and mapped from the water using a specially developed vehicle - UNBERÜHRT. The aim is to make the proportion of private shoreline areas visible and to turn this process into a collective experience.
The floating bike, also known as the KatamaRad or Radamaran, was primarily created in autonomously run workshops such as the Bike Kitchen Linz, mainly from reused materials, donations and loans (like the catamaran).A project in which the question of handling property and (unpaid) time arises again and again and above all: How does sustainable, collective use and organisation ‘from the scratch’ work?
The unDOCKn project team in Gmunden consisted of:Rebecca Strasser-Kirchweger, Martin Helfert (technical planning and realisation), Reinhard Jungreithmeyer (catamaran), Flo Klabacher (BikeKitchen), Felix Vierlinger (technical support)
Workshops: Bike Kitchen and the metal workshop of the University of Art and Design Linz
Kollaboration: Vildan (Video) Instagram @vildan.jpeg, Laura Rumpl (Grafik Design) Instagram @geruempl
