20 September - 07 October 2024
Hello, Traunsee, we are the collective Raumstation.
Always in search of new impulses, we explore the city and the countryside. The collective works critically and playfully at the same time, locally and in specific places, even away from the much-noticed metropolises. Founded in Weimar (DE) in 2013, we are now also active as an open collective in Berlin and Vienna.
We want to cast new perspectives on (in-between) spaces, uncover social issues found there, make them visible, put them up for discussion and renegotiate them. We humorously question the familiar, explore, uncover power structures, (re)question and interfere - sometimes in an uncomfortable way. In playful and fantastic reinterpretations, we create opportunities for change.
The collective will be working on site from 20 September - 07 October on the ‘System for the exploration and recording of lakeshore metamorphoses and territories’, SEEAMT for short. As part of the Traunsee expedition, the extent to which different environments and entities occupy spaces and mark territories is being investigated on the Plateau Blo.
The Lake Office is reformulating the question ‘Who owns the lake?’. Because territorial boundaries become blurred on the water. The constant negotiation of different appropriations of space therefore becomes the subject of our artistic research. How does the lake open up the possibility of fluidly rethinking ownership and property? ‘Who is the lake?’.
